God’s Country; Pure Heaven

God’s Country

If there could be words for the most beautiful things in the world, what would be they?  They would not be from me, my mind, would they? Could they? The most beautiful things in the world are without words. And this was it. The geese in the hills, the horse, standing, the dog, sitting. The peachy blue colour of the horizon, offset by the mountains of blue and white. The mountains that will never tire my eyes. My eyes are the most beautiful part of me, because they can take-in, reflect all that is God, and those mountains. This life. The words are not words at all, they are not found in this life.

And I would die happy.

Last ride of the season

I rode my GSX-R out on this beautiful afternoon, slightly sad that it was the last ride of the season. From the farm you could see the new clouds of rain rolling in, a signal of the end of fall. I brushed Mac and hopped on, we rode calmly down the road, with a canter in there. I practiced my deep breathing, something I need to practice more, with horses being a means to relax, get away from the craziness at large. It is so quiet on the range.

Thursday Afternoon

Thursday afternoon and it warmed up. I rode my bike out today, and parked it on the property. It was a beautiful day. I brushed Mac and put the dressage bridle on. We walked down the road, a steady walk. We walked all the way down the road, breathing in the slight wind. We tried a small trot, and walked from there. It was a good ride. Breathe easy.

Got on my bike and hope it would start. It did. I rode back into town on this beauty day. I parked in the grocery store parking lot. I got on my bike, and hoped it would start. It didn’t. Turn the ignition off and back on again, it started.

Tuesday Beautiful Morning

A beautiful October morning. Amanda picked me up and we drove out to the farm, tacked up. I didn’t bring my saddle back. Mac is getting fuzzy. We went up the road this time, Mac being really good. We went to the fork in the road and down, such a beautiful day it was hard to believe. And then we walked back up, towards the highway. Pal was a bit excited, but Mac was perfect. He seemed to like the company. We crossed the highway and went further up the hill. It was a new view. And then we went back down. Mac was excellent. Pal was not so chill. But it was a beautiful ride all the same. It helped me calm down, work through some the anxiety. Thank you God. Strange times we are in.
